“I haven’t cried in 20 years.”
That’s not a badge of honor. That’s a burden. Men are socialized to suppress their emotions, with vulnerability being mistaken for weakness. But mental exhaustion, anxiety, and depression don’t go away—they build up.
At Kay’s Wellness Centre, we’re changing that mindset. We’re creating safe spaces for men to open up—counselling, support groups, and confidential conversations.
This Father’s Day, we affirm:
- Crying is not weakness
- Therapy is not shameful
- Asking for help is strength
Furthermore, we encourage:
- Regular mental health check-ins
- Group family activities (walks, meal prep)
- Therapy or coaching when needed
Because strong fathers don’t have to carry everything alone.
Functional Medicine Insight:
Mental and emotional health directly affect physical health markers. A dad’s ability to model healthy habits – or neglect them – can shape generations. What did your dad teach you about health?
